YEAR 2003

1.         Restructuring of the Ministry

            Ministry of Works and Transport and Ministry of Lands and Housing are to be merged into one Ministry comprising eight (8) Departments.

                  i.          Lands Services and Housing Department.

ii.          Survey and Mapping Department.

iii.         Civil Engineering Department.

iv          Planning, Design, Research and Transportation Department.

v          Public Buildings Department.

vi          Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Fire

    Services Department.

vii         Urban and Regional Planning Department.

vii         Finance and Administration Department.

2.         Preparation of Policy Documents.

i.          Convene meetings of Stakeholders through workshops/seminars.

ii.          Prepare draft Policy for EXCO approval.

5.         Strengthening of the Fire Fighting Division

Refurbishment and acquisition of Fire Fighting Equipment and other allied accessories e.g. Foam, Chemicals, Fire Fighting Garment and breathing equipment.

6.         Resuscitation of Materials Testing Laboratory

            i.          Purchase of equipment.

ii.          Training of relevant staff in collaboration with relevant

Agencies e.g. FUTA.

7.         Control of Physical Development of Urban Areas

i.          Inspection of sites/structures to ensure compliance with Town      Planning Regulations.

ii.          Prepare reports on contravention at Akure, Owo, Ondo, Ikare, Okitipupa.

            iii.         Prepare report on River Ala and Elegbin channelisation.

            iv.         Liaise with Federal Agencies to solve the flooding at Lipakala.

8.         Survey and Mapping of Ondo State

            i.          Acquire 1:50,000 Topographical Map of Ondo State.

            ii.          Delineate/Survey of proposed Sea Port site.

            iii.         Purchase of Motorcycles for Eighteen (18) Area Offices.

            iv.         Purchase of Office Equipment.

9.         Acquisition for Land for Developmental Projects

            i.          Allocation of land and processing of title documents.

            ii.          Acquisition of Land for proposed Sea Port Area.

10.       Development of Sites and Services

            i.          Opening-up and grading of estate roads.

ii.          Construction of culverts.

            Iii         Provision of electricity to the Estates.

11.       Capacity Building.
